KakaoTalk: Chat app with more than 45 million users integrates crypto wallet

The South Korean company Cocoa had already announced last year that it wanted to integrate a crypto wallet into the chat app. By Tuesday, June 3rd, 2020, the time had actually come. According to the company, more than 100,000 users downloaded the wallet within the first 24 hours.

Samsung also presented a partnership with the Bitcoin exchange Gemini a few days ago to expand the functions of its integrated wallet.

This should significantly simplify the operation for people who do not deal with Bitcoin and Co.The wallet is initially only available to users from South Korea. However, the last paragraph of the press release suggests that the functions will be available to users around the world in the future:

“Additional features will be added to Klip in the coming months. In the second half of the year, Klip will be directly connected to the Klaytn-based blockchain application. Subsequently, a native Klip mobile app will be available that provides a digital wallet for users around the world.”
